Postponement of GT
The following are additional instructions concerning the Graduation Thesis (GT). They pertain to those students that request a postponement of their GT.
(1) Students who wish to defer completion of their GT must graduate in the next academic year. There will be no extra arrangement for oral presentation or invitation of External Reviewer outside the official review week.
(2) There is NO "I" grade ("Imcomplete") for GT. A student who does not graduate on time shall automatically receive an "F" for SM4140, unless special approval for late drop of class has been granted by the Undergraduate Program Leader after approval by the Studio Leader.
As a rule, the Programme Leader will only consider special appeals from students who have undergone hospitalization or suffer from a serious health problem (with medial certification), or those who are on overseas exchange program.
(3) The student should then go through all official procedures laid down for SM4140, meet all procedural requirements, and graduate at the end of that semester accordingly, if passed.
(4) Students who plan to defer their graduation MUST FILE AN OFFICIAL LETTER to the Undergraduate Program Leader via the General Office stating the specific urgent circumstances leading to the proposed deferral. The Program Leader reserves the rights to examine the case and consult with GT advisers involved to make the final approval for deferral.
