Assignment 2: Image- and/or Audio-driven animation

Due: 8 November 2010

Create a 10 seconds (i.e. around 240 frames) Image-driven and/or audio-driven animation.

You can use any of the OPs and expressions that we have covered in the classes. Here is a quick summary:

• Source of shape: TORUS, SPHERE, BOX, TUBE, GRID, CIRCLE.
• Modify a shape: POINT, PRIMITIVE, TRANSFORM, COPY, DELETE, COLOR, SORT, CREEP, TWIST, UVTexture, VOP SOP, METABALL, ADD, TRAIL
• Workflow: SWITCH, MERGE
• Particle: PARTICLE
• Expression: rand(), noise(), sin(), stamp()
• Image-driven: VOP SOP
• Audio-driven: chopcf()
• Some useful local variables: $PT, $NCY, $CY (in COPY), $TX, $TY, $TZ (in POINT), $CR, $CG, $CB (for color), $F and $T (for timing).

Of course, you can use any OPs that have not been covered.

Try also assigning materials and lighting.

Hand-in the Houdini file (.hipnc), your original image sequence and/or audio files, and the final rendered video.

I will setup the ACS system. In case your file size are too big, you can go to W:\SM4123\assignment2, create a sub-folder using your student ID as the sub-folder name, and then copy your file there.
