10am-1pm: Designing the set up for a film scoring
session. Participants will be guided through the steps involved in designing
the seating arrangement for a film scoring orchestra; microphone choice
and placement; audio recording and monitoring systems; and the inclusion
of the composer’s DAW on the scoring stage to assist in conducting and
post-production.
3pm-6pm: Orchestral audio recording for film, featuring the Hong Kong
Philharmonic Orchestra
Day Two: Friday 23rd February 2007: 6pm-9pm
VENUE: City University of Hong Kong, School of Creative Media
TOPICS:
Computer mock-up orchestra verses real orchestra: techniques for
combining real and virtual instruments; over dubbing techniques for small
ensembles to create the illusion of a large ensemble.
