About School of Creative Media and Orientation Week 2011
The School of Creative Media is a unique place for learning. It does not only take you into creative adventures with the latest digital technology; it invites you to be intellectually daring, to be open-minded with less traveled paths of thought, to be sensitive to yourselves and the world, and critical of your culture and society.
Since academic year 2002-3, SCM has had the practice of spending the first week of the year on special induction activities to prepare for new students for fruitful learning at SCM.
At the end of Orientation Week 2011, students should be able to:
• to understand the SCM curriculum, its learning philosophy, and its resources for academic and creative purpose
• to produce multiple points of view on issues of artistic creation
• to articulate one view in an artwork
• to set their goals of the future studying and build up their own identity at SCM
• to build up a good relationship with other new and returning students as well as teaching staff-members through the various sharing and networking activities
