Introduction
Videotage brings art to the people: joining forces with ēpöch coffee bar & desserterie in Wan Chai, we present Hong Kong Designer and Media Artist Henry Chu's newest piece. THE MOVING MAO is a large-scale projection of an object similar to a canvas; it changes shape as people move into a certain area with in the cafe space. Interaction through body movement causes the image to blur and distort.
Artwork descrpition:
Moving Canvas is an extension of my experiment Video Brush about converting body gestures to visuals through a video camera. The way how people move in front of the screen will manipulate this canvas and it moves correspondingly. Sometimes the canvas looks like a distorted mirror, sometimes it leave traces on the screen and create painting-like visuals.
Using the body gestures instead of a paint brush could be more expressive and more direct, it also require less skills, thus anyone could join the creation process.

Look closely and guess what they could be...

This is the forthcoming computers you can carry within your pockets .This "pen sort of instrument" produces both the monitor as well as the keyboard on any flat surfaces from where you can carry out functions you would normally do on your desktop computer.
