最近看過一間公司由日本引進的"interative window-ubiqwindow". 當然window與人的interaction中間這個augmented reality的計算要事先做調效. 看過真身後知道是用optical tracking配合reflection的sensing.
"Infiniti Interactive Mirrors"是為Infiniti這家公司的陳列室而做, Nikolai Cornell搭上Commotion New Media, The Designory和Mindflood. 所做的同樣是interactive window/mirror之類的東西, 但效果卻大不同.
明顯這是用者經驗/介面(user experience/interface)上的不同考慮. 前者絕對是一項技術上的研究, 當然不算新亦談不上先進. 所賣的是新的user control的"技術". 可惜介面內容未見有配合準確, 以至完成品流於只一般"新嘗試"的貨品. 後者搭上media designer, 技術公司, 介面設計員多方專合作泡製一個貼身兼擁有前者所謂的"新嘗試/先進".
一味先進會令社會進步, 但要令使用/觀賞者有"wow factor"的經驗, 只懂稱霸技術不會令你跟生活經驗拉近. 要做一個給人用產品/作品, 就要用人的角度去構思.
