A complex system comprises of a large number of interacting entities that collectively evolve through self-organization. It gives rise to emergent properties, such as coherent structures, patterns and novel characteristics, that are not previously observed in the individual components. Bird flocking and fish schooling are good examples of emergence in nature systems. This work is composed of an array of interacting and self-organizing individuals to mimic the emergent behavior of dynamic, complex systems in nature. Each individual observes the local environmental condition and the behavior of its neighbors to regulates its own reaction.
