initial project | the street swapper
final work | intersection of the lines
{artist statement}

It may be said that creativity defies limits as the latter restrains the free flow of thoughts, emotions or imagination. In this project, it is to argue that rules, set in certain ways, not only do not restrict creativity, but help provokes thoughts, emotions and imagination among people.
Rules not only bind people, they may also pose a challenge to them and provoke desire to be set free from the boundaries. The tighter they feel the bond, the stronger they will react with imagination and give birth to new ideas and directions to break themselves free that carry them to new grounds. In this project I used the concept of intersecting lines to test the possibilities of simple rules.
{initial project}
<the street swapper>

<the street swapper> is a bartering game.
I titled myself a street swapper. I carried my treasure box to the street and looked for people that would play this game with me. This is what I said when they agreed to play with me:
"I have 3 gifts in this beautiful treasure box. Today I would like to exchange one of these 3 gifts with anything that belongs to you. I will open my box and show you the gifts after you give me yours. You may choose which one of the 3 gifts you want from me. You can give me anything, as long as it is yours."
